Founded in 2013 in Hull, we are passionate about northern queer voices and stories that platform those beyond the traditional mainstream. We work with exceptional writers and artists to develop, produce and tour ambitious new plays that deserve to be seen and heard.

We're just as passionate about where theatre happens as what happens on stage. From pubs and pop-up spaces to festivals and major theatres, we take our work to audiences across the country, breaking down barriers to who theatre is for, where it belongs, and how people experience it.

Silent Uproar is a registered charity based in Hull, creating and touring work across the North of England and beyond. Our work is made possible through a mix of public funding, partnerships, earned income and private investment.
