New work for new audiences is the lifeblood of Silent Uproar and going forward we want to do more to champion northern writers.

 

Our new TROUBLEMAKER programme will support 6 Northern voices over a year to dream up future shows that will inspire and excite future theatregoers. This programme allows us to forge more relationships with northern writers and to invest in getting their work onto northern stages in the future.

 

Each writer will receive:

• A seed commission to start developing a new idea for future programming.

• A “Rebel Care Package”

• Regular meetings with Silent Uproar’s artistic team and the other supported writers, geared towards dramaturgical and career support.

• Other opportunities including the possibility of writing a piece for Out Loud, our scratch night, in association with Middle Child.
