In our previous blog, we hinted at big things ahead for Silent Uproar. This is part of that.
With our sell-out hit The Night of the Werewolves LIVE returning next month, we’re excited to share that Hull business Wykeland are supporting a 12-month programme of monthly shows, based in their SPACE pop up venue in the Fruit Market.
The programme begins on Friday 22 May, with performances running across 22–24 May, before continuing throughout the year with regular dates in June, July, September, October, November and December.
So what does Wykeland’s backing mean for the show? It means Night of the Werewolves doesn’t just exist as a one-off, and instead it is becoming a regular night out.
Since its first run in 2024, the show has grown into a night that brings together such a wide spectrum of people, of different ages, of different communities - people hungry for a welcoming night out. The show is a shared experience that combines theatre, interactivity, game-play, and social fun.
That interactivity and community-building around the experience only works if it can exist regularly.
Wykeland understands that, and they understand that building isn’t just literally about buildings. It's about what happens inside them: the nights out, the spaces where people gather, the things that make a place truly feel alive. Wykeland have consistently backed cultural organisations across Hull for years, not as an add-on, but as part of what a city needs to function.
This programme and support builds on Silent Uproar’s relationship with Wykeland on Humber Street, and on a shared belief that these spaces only matter if people use them and gather in them. We’re excited to be one of the many organisations that they enthusiastically support to bring life to a wider community.
Additionally, for our small theatre company, this support offers a huge shift in how we can bring experiences to people. As a project-funded company, monthly work like this completely transforms what’s possible. It means we can keep making, keep showing up, and keep holding space for audiences in a way that’s consistent and impactful.
And the best part is, it’s just one part of something bigger happening at Silent Uproar. We’re starting to think differently about what our work looks like, where it happens, and how it fits into people’s lives. We want to be less one-off, much more ongoing, and more embedded.
We’ll share more on that soon.
For now, a thank you to Wykeland for backing the anticipated return of The Night of The Werewolves LIVE. Support like this doesn’t just help organisations like ours, it shapes what a city gets to be.
