Tour Musical Director

CALL OUT: MUSICAL DIRECTOR FOR UK TOUR (SPRING 2019) - A SUPER HAPPY STORY (ABOUT FEELING SUPER SAD)

We've got an exciting, paid opportunity for a Musical Director to come onboard for our upcoming UK tour in Spring 2019. 

A Super Happy Story (About Feeling Super Sad) is a hilarious cabaret musical about depression written by Oliver award winner Jon Brittain (Rotterdam & Margaret Thatcher Queen of Soho) with music by Matthew Floyd Jones (Frisky and Mannish).

The production was first staged in 2017, with a successful run in Edinburgh and the first leg of a UK tour in late 2018. The show is performed by 3 Actors and a Musical Director

You would be working with director Alex Mitchell, Musical Supervisor James Frewer, and Musical Director & Composer Matthew Floyd Jones.

Requirements:

  • Good Keyboard Skills

  • Competent singer

  • Ability to read sheet music

  • The role contains performative elements, and two lines spoken in the show.

Dates:

Engagement period is between 21st January-14th June 2019


Rehearsals- 21st-25th January 2019


Performance dates between 30th January-14th June 2019


The tour schedule equates to 1-week rehearsal and 13 weeks of tour over the engagement period. The engagement period includes breaks and weeks off. (See the tour schedule for full information.)

Fee

Total Fee including prep - £7000, plus Holiday pay (9%) and Per Diems when away from Home.

Accommodation and Travel paid for by the company.
